Hi, I’m Johanna

I’m a believer in new beginnings and second chances, originally from Maracaibo, Venezuela, my family and I moved to Canada a few years ago, an adventure that allows me to write short stories about my experience as an immigrant, the memories I left behind, the choices we make and the lessons that help us to grow and reinvent ourselves. I also enjoy writing contemporary fiction, flash fiction and Y/A stories.

I am shameless addicted to chocolate, coffee and, as a hopeless romantic, my weakness are books with HEA. I completed a certificate program in Creative Writing at the University of Toronto. My work has been published in Spanish in different websites and law magazines. I’ve also had stories published in various online journals like Commuter Lit, a personal essay in the Globe and Mail, and I have another one in Tin Journal a literary magazine, and I was shortlisted in the NOTL Writers’ Circle Rising Spirit Contest 2019,Also I’m part of a weekly writing group and I frequently review ARCs on Netgalley, Goodreads and in this blog.
