YEARNING

It has been so long since the last time I think about her.

The good, and the bad, the sadness and the happiness, one day she just was gone.

At first, I didn’t notice, she slipped through my fingers, little by little until she wasn’t there anymore.

Many years had passed but today something makes me think about her. I remember her messy hair that never was long, always barefoot running around the backyard, trying to learn how to climb a tree, it never happened, her irrational fear of the absence of light.

She believed in fairy tales and happy ever afters, also she had this fearless desire to be great and capable of becoming her dreams into a reality. Dreams that she packed to keep them safe.

And that girl grew up, and become the woman she was supposed to be, she did everything supposed to, family, work, a name for herself, then those dreams were forgotten, as so was she…

But today, I remember her, and I should have done it sooner, I shouldn’t have left her behind…
